The Transportation System Plan Update and Transit Development Plan are now underway. Check out the press release distributed January 16th.
CORVALLIS – If you have thoughts about getting around in Corvallis, now’s the perfect time to voice your opinion. The City is beginning a project to update the Transportation System Plan (TSP), a long‐range document that guides the expansion and maintenance of our transportation network for all modes of travel over the next 20 years. In conjunction, the City will develop a Transit Development Plan (TDP), which will inform investment in the Corvallis public transportation system.
“We're very excited about this opportunity to work with our residents and businesses to plan the future of bicycle, pedestrian, vehicle, freight, and transit systems in Corvallis. I invite everyone to join us at the project meetings and help us plan for a safe, functional transportation system,” said Robyn Bassett, Public Works Project Manager. The project will include extensive public outreach and technical work to plan for Corvallis’ needs over the next 20 years. Final recommendations on the TSP will go to the City Council for adoption and implementation in late 2017.
There are lots of ways you can get involved in the process:
A project Steering Committee was appointed by the City Council to provide a community perspective to the process of developing the TSP update and the TDP. Meetings will be open to the public and include a public comment period.
The project team will provide a briefing to the City Council on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers.
